KeraHow we handle your photo
The hairstyle try-on works on a picture of your own face. This is the whole of what happens to it, what the tool can and cannot do, and the rules you agree to when you use it.
What the tool is
You upload one photograph of yourself and choose a haircut. A generative image model returns the same photograph with different hair. That is the entire feature.
It is not a face swap, a deepfake tool, or a way to generate images of people who did not sit for the photograph. It cannot move your face onto another body or another face onto yours, and it cannot invent a person. It edits the hair in a picture you already have of yourself.
Whose face it may be
Your own. Before you upload, you confirm that the photograph is of you, or that you have the permission of the person in it. That confirmation is required every time; it is not remembered between visits.
Uploading a photograph of someone who has not agreed to it — including a public figure, a celebrity, or anyone found online — breaches our terms. We do not knowingly process such an image, and any result produced from one is not licensed for you to use.
What is never done to it
- No face detection or recognition. Your face is not located, measured, encoded, or compared against anything.
- No biometric template. Nothing is derived from your facial geometry, and no such data is created, stored or shared.
- No identification or inference. No attempt is made to work out who you are, or your age, gender, ethnicity or anything else about you.
- No training. Your photograph is not used to train any model, ours or a provider’s.
- No advertising or profiling. It is not used to target anything at you, and it is never sold.
Where it goes, and for how long
The photograph is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our storage, passed to the image model that produces the new picture, and deleted from our storage as soon as the render finishes or fails. It is not archived and not kept for review.
The result is returned to your browser. You can download it; we do not publish it, show it to anyone else, or use it for any purpose of our own.
Who else sees it
The image model that performs the edit is run by a third-party provider under contract to us, for the sole purpose of producing your result. No one else receives the photograph. Our privacy policy sets out the full list of processors.
Children
The try-on is not for use on photographs of children. Kera is intended for adults, and you should not upload an image of a minor.
Common questions
Is this a face swap or a deepfake tool?
No. It changes hair on a photograph you supply of yourself. It cannot put your face on another body, put another face on your body, or place you in a scene you were not in. The instruction the model is given is to leave the face, expression, skin tone, clothing and background exactly as they are.
Can I upload a photo of someone else?
No, and you are asked to confirm before you upload that the photo is of you or that you have the permission of the person in it. Uploading a photograph of someone who has not agreed to it is a breach of our terms and the result is not yours to use.
Does Kera recognise faces?
No. There is no face detection, no face recognition, no facial template, no landmark extraction and no matching against anything. Nothing is derived from the geometry of your face, and no attempt is made to work out who you are, your age, your gender or anything else about you.
Is my photo used to train a model?
No. Your photograph is not added to any training set, ours or anyone else’s, and it is not retained for that purpose or any other.
How long do you keep it?
Until the render finishes or fails, and then it is deleted from our storage. It is not archived, not backed up for later and not kept to improve anything.
Asking us about it
Write to hello@jazzgames.net. Because photographs are deleted as soon as they are processed, there is normally nothing of yours left for us to delete on request — but if you want confirmation of that, ask and we will give it.
